Merry Christmas to all..These last few weeks have been so busy and hectic. Work has been so stressful. It's nice to be able to relax and enjoy my family.
Ben first Christmas was nice. He is such a nice and even tempered baby. It's hard to believe he's growing up so fast. Ben is 8 1/2 months. He's into everything. He's crawling. standing and pulling himself up..His grandparents bought him a rider flyer wagon/walker. He does a great job walking with it across the floor. He also can sit in the wagon and we can push him.
It's so amazing how one little baby can just make your heart melt. He's so very special to us..I'm so thankful for my family and our little Ben.
Ben and I made a paper Christmas tree out of Ben's hand print and the ornaments are Ben's thumb prints. We kept teasing Mommy and telling Ben's not to tell Grammy's secret. I want to do lots of crafts ideas with Ben as he gets older. It's so much fun.
I do hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. You are all so dear to me.
Here are a few pictures of Ben and our Christmas. The girls made a photo book of Me and Ben for Christmas. I just loved it. It's amazing how much our little guy has grown. Do enjoy the New Year with your family.

Snow Day
It's so hard to believe that Ben is almost 8 months. He is such a little character. He's starting to make his likes and dislikes known.Yesterday he said his first word. He kept saying it quite a few times. Try to guess what he said.. Joleene will tell you on her blog..
We have snow and snow today...Joleene had a snow day today so Grammy and Mommy spent the day with Ben. Auntie Sue had to go to work..It was a bit scary driving in to work. We aren't use to driving a ways to work. Mommy and Grammy took Ben outside in the snow. He didn't know what to make of it. Uncle Chris if you reading this think of all the snow you're missing. Here are some pics of Ben;

Family Gathering
We had a small gathering since Sarah and John were home for the holidays. Joshua, Theresa's son is here for a few weeks. He is being sent to Irag so it's nice that he can spend time with his family and friends.
Sarah and John's son Grayson is such a sweet little boy. Most of the family hadn't met this little guy yet. Grayson is 3 months old. Sarah is Mary's daughter and Stacy's sister. He's so cute and still has most of his hair. Here are a few pics we took. As a whole our family has so much to be thankful for. Aunt Jeanne is doing well. We have lots of new babies that were born in the family this year. They are all so precious and sweet...Being an Auntie and Grammy is just great.... Auntie Sue has also started her own blog..She has finally join in with the rest of us...

Thanksgiving
I know it's been awhile since I wrote. It's really great being around Ben. He's such a special little boy. He lost that little baby look and looks like a little boy. He's Grammy little boy. Monday's is usually my day with Ben. I tried to write on my blog when I take care of him but he doesn't usually let me. He sits on my lap while I try to update and plays with my keys. He loves all this electronic stuff. You know keyboards, remotes, phones...on my...He's pounds on my keyboards and changes the page on Grammy..It's more difficult to update my blog as the internet carrier we have is so bad...... it's slower than molasses.... We use to have high speed internet..Sue and I miss that part...plus our computer isn't working...We're using Joleene's..
Thanksgiving was nice and quiet. I'm so thankful for my family and our little man. I can't get over how much one little person can mean to you. I love my kids but being a Grammy is just wonderful. He is growing up so fast. He's wants to be on the floor and on the go...He's starting to crawl and loves to be in his jump a roo. He looked so cute in his white button shirt and corduroys. Here's are a some pics that we took.

A New Little Friend
On Thursday Ben & I went and hung out with some of my teacher friends. I do miss working with the kids. It is so rewarding and can be frustrating at the same time but the time I spend with Ben is so worth it. I love being with my grand-baby. Sue and I do enjoy our little man. She just loves being an Auntie. It's hard to believe he's already seven months. Grammy and Mommy have been taking Ben to the doctors for the last few weeks. He finally doesn't have to go back until he gets the other part of his flu shot. His lungs sound really good.
Ben sat on the floor and played with Gabriella. She was born 1 week before Ben. She wanted Ben's toys and Ben wanted her toys. Ben kept going after her shinny black shoes. After work I went to the daycare to get Ben and met my friends. I grabbed the diaper bag from daycare not realizing that there weren't any daipers in it. So Ben had to borrow a diaper from his new little friend, Ella.
He's getting ready for crawling. Oh no!! Watch out!! Mommy, Auntie Sue and Grammy will be looking and pricing baby gates.
Being a Grammy is just one of the greatest things ever. We sing so much to our little guy. I lost count on how manyy times we sing to him to get him to stop crying. He's getting better at being in the car. Riding is not one of his favorite things to do.
Here are a few pics of Ben & Gabriella.

Fun in the leaves
I took Ben to the doctors for a follow-up appointment with his doctor as his Mommy had to go to work. She took a good part of last week off since Ben was so sick. He is doing so much better. He only needs to do his breathing treatment twice a day. He has to go back next week to the doctors. He'll get his flu shot next week too as he's been too sick to get it before. Even though he's been sick he's always has a smile. He's such a good baby.
I've been wanting to take Ben's picture in the leaves so I took him out after we got back from the doctors. He was so funny. I kept trying to take his pic and he kept trying to eat the leaves. Grammy kept telling him "No Ben, no Ben." He is so precious to us. Being a Grammy is just one of the greatest things ever. I do so enjoyed it so much. Here are the pics I took of Ben in the leaves. They are some of my favorite. It hard to believe that our little man is almost seven months old. Time really does fly.

Our Little Scarecrow
Saturday evening Sue and I stopped by to see Stacy and her kids at their Harvest party at their church. It was cute to see all the little ones dressed up. The kids were all having lots of fun. Our little Benjamin was dressed up as a scarecrow. He kept watching everyone as their were lots of kids in different outfits.Kelsey and Kaylee were ducks, Jordan a fireman just like his daddy and Latoya a very pretty princess.Ben kept giving Mary kisses and loves. Here are a few pics that we took.
Ben's daycare had a Halloween party this weekend. We took Ben to the party to visit his little friends. The children at daycare kept coming up to him for hugs and kisses. Ben is well loved at daycare. He is the youngest baby there. He is well taken care of.

Ben's 6 month check-up
Joleene and I took Ben for his 6 months shots. He had to have three shots. At least it's not four like it has been. It breaks my heart when I hear Ben cry. He really cried after that third shot...His little leg is bruise where they gave him his shot. I know he needs them but it's still so hard.. The good thing, he doesn't have to go back until he's nine months..
Ben is on the go so much. It's getting harder to take his weekly picture. We sit him in his boppy and he rolls over, turn over etc. We have to be fast as we never know how long he will stay still. The chair is no longer safe to take his pic. It's amazing how fast he's grown. It's so hard to believe he's the tiny baby that Jo and Jason brought home from the hospital. I love hearing his giggles and mumble jumble.
Here's a few pics that we took..Ben is now 28 weeks..He's looking more and more like a little boy and not so much a little baby...

Funny Ben
Ben is growing up so fast. It's hard to believe he's 6 months. He now has two teeth. When he laughs we can see his little teeth. They aren't all the way up yet but are getting there. He's such a good natured baby. I love being able to spend time with my little man. Yesterday I was sitting on the couch with Ben. He was playing with his feet. His feet finally made it to his mouth. so our little guy was sucking on his toes. It was so cute. I had to call everyone down to see Ben sucking on his toes. What a little character. So of course we got the camera and video camera out. He was so adorable.
He loves his vegetables but he's not able to eat fruit yet as he breaks out after he eats them. We think it's the acid in the fruits that is making him break out. So far he eats everything we give him. He usually makes a face when he frost tries it but ends up eating the whole container of baby food.
I wanted to share some pictures that we took of Ben this week. Enjoy! I do so enjoyed reading everyone blog.

Fryeburg Fair
Sue, Joleene, Ben and I spent a few hours at the Fryeburg Fair. It was a very hot day and a busy one. Next year we will definitely not go on a Friday.
We took Ben to the petting zoo. Every time we try to put Ben close to the goats he cried. He did not like them at all. He didn't mind the cows and other animals. We had a very nice day. I also put some of Ben 25 weeks pics on the slide show.
Sue and I are adjusting to living with Jo and Jason and Ben of course. Things are working out well. We do have to get up earlier to leave for work as it is no longer a 5 minute ride. I do enjoy being in the country again. I grew up in the country. It is definitely quieter than the city. I do enjoyed spending time with my precious little grandson. He is so a joy to be around.

Crazy Week
What a crazy week. It has been so crazy these past few weeks with packing and trying to get everything out of my apartment by the end of the month. Now I remembered why I hate to move. The first day we try to move some of our furniture it poured and then Adam's truck broke down. We had two truck s and then we were down to one. We then move some things Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What a job!! Sunday Joleene and Sue were loading the truck. I pulled a muscle so they weren't letting me do much. Next time I will definitely rent a truck. It's way too hard trying to get it down with trucks. Well, at least our stuff is at Joleene's and Jason. Where I'm not sure. It may be awhile before we find everything.
Ben and I had a quiet day. He talks so much now and is constantly moving. He hates to ride in the car. We have to sing to him to get him to stop crying. He's favorite is Old McDonald's and his other is the Ants go marching one by one. I hope he starts to like the car again very soon. We are suppose to be going to Fryberg Fair this Friday. I hope he's is better or we will be taking lots of breaks and singing lots of songs.
Here are a few pics that we have taken this week. It's had to believe he 24 weeks already.

Moving
I've been so busy packing and cleaning in order to move. What a job.. I've been in my apartment for 11 years. Boy the junk one accumulates. My landlord wanted me to move downstairs so he could renovate my apartment. I could later move back upstairs but in the meantime he is putting the building on the market to sell plus he plan to jack up the rent. So Sue and I are moving in with Joleene and Jason for the winter. In the spring we will look for a place closer to them. We're trying to get everything done by Sunday. Hopefully we can get it done. I don't want to pay anymore money if I can't help it.
I took some pictures of our little guy. He is growing up so fast. He's getting ready to crawl. He wants to be in constant motion. We had his 6 months pictures taken yesterday at Kiddie Kandids. They did an awesome job. They were ready in 10 minutes after they took his pictures. You have to watch for their sales. We got a good deal on them. Joleene will be posting them soon.

In Loving Memory - Eveline Beaulieu
It's hard to believe that my Mom has been gone for four years. I wish she could be here to see her grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was Grammy to my kids and Meme to so many others. She lovingly made quilts for each of her grandkids and kids. They were made with so much love. She is still sorely missed by so many. Sue and I made a slide show of with her some of her family. This slide show is in celebration of her life. Her birthday is on September 19th. She was a very special woman. We put some of Grammy's pictures of herself when she was little. I thought I would put eight interest facts about her life.
1. She moved from Canada when she was eight in the middle of the winter of 1925. They traveled from Canada to Maine by horse and buggy. She told Sue and I it was so cold. They were bundled in blankets. Some of the kids got frostbitten. It was a long and cold ride.
2.She came from a very large family. There were 16 children of which two died as babies. Among the 16 children were a set of fraternal twins, Ernest and Mathilda. She was the youngest, thus she was the baby of the family. She had eight brothers and eight sisters. Her father took off when she was little and her Mom had to raise her family on her own.
3. Her older sister Adelia was 24 when Eveline was born. There was a huge difference in age. Some of her brothers and sister stayed in Canada since they already had jobs and their own families there.
4. Family was very important to her. She always made sure that her children and grandchildren receive a birthday from her. She stayed in touch with all of her brothers and sisters, either by phone, cards, and letters. She flew a few times to go visit them in Canada.
5. She was a very hard worker. She carried in work and oil for the house to keep it warm. We didn't have furnaces like they do today. She had an old oil burner stove that heated up the kitchen which held a small tank. She had to filled this at least twice a day. We had a wood stove that heated up the other rooms. She would carried in wood. O course we help her but she did a lot of this on her own.
6. She always had a apron on as she cooked. She made many cookies such as sugar, molasses and peanut butter. Aunt Jeanne especially made her new aprons every year. She would wear them out as she used them so much.
7. For Thanksgiving and Christmas she would make her homemade stuffing from mashed potatoes, fried onions, hamburg and seasoning. She would put it all together and stuff the turkey. She always made homemade lemon meringue pie. She sure knew how to cook.
8.One of the hardest decisions she ever had to make was to sell her little yellow house and move into town but once she made that move she loved it. She made many friends at Barker Mills. She would go downstairs to visit her friends several times a day. They would all hang out and talked.
We are all here because of her. Think about how many children, grandchildren, great-great grandchildren there are today. What a lasting legacy she left to all of us. I'm so thankful that she was all part of our lives.
Love always to my Mom for everything she was to all of us. Love, Joan

Monday with Ben
Well my little buddy and I had a quiet day. Ben played in his room with his musical ball rolling and trying to get it. He little legs are constantly moving. I took some pictures of him playing with the ball. Ben sat in his bumbo chair while I tried to load the dishwasher. I kept giving him his toys and he kept pushing them off his tray. So Grammy kept picking up his toys while trying to load the dishwasher. It took my quite awhile to get it done. Wow, how in the world did I ever get everything done with three little ones when my kids were little. Later in the day I washed down his highchair and tried Ben in it. He look so little in it. It's hard to believe that he is almost six months. Where oh where does the time go! I do so enjoyed my Mondays. They are so special to me. Here are some pics that I took of our little man.

Hmmm, things about me
Well it looks like my cousin Mary tagged me and since I don't have a blog of my own, I've stolen my mom's. This is Sue by the way.
1. When I was little, my nickname used to be SueSue. I guess I was called that because I also had an older cousin named Sue (Susie). People didn't want to get confused by 2 Sues. I hate that name. To this day if anyone calls me that they get the evil eye. You know who you are!
4. I love anything old and antique. Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong era. My mom and I like going to antique shops and checking out all the old stuff. Old pictures are so much fun to look at. I once found an old singer sewing machine in the wooden cabinet. My mom said grammy had one just like it. Even though I don't sew, if I had had the money, I would've bought it.
This is great-aunt Mathilda. Isn't she pretty?
6. I love to read. I was in 3rd grade when I starting reading chapter books. I started out by reading the Little House on the Prairie books. My mom said that once I got started, there was no stopping me. I have so many different kinds of books and I can't imagine my life without them.

Eight interesting Facts
Stacy tagged me and I guess I will try to think of 8 interesting facts about myself.
1. When I was a teenager I got pulled over on Riverside Drive for speeding. I was driving in a 25 mile zone. The officer stopped me and let me go. Later that some night my brother Raymond got stopped in the same area, He got a ticket. Boy was he mad!
2. Joleene and I both graduated the same year. I graduated from college in 1995. Joleene graduated from high school in 1995.
3. When I was 12 I got mad at the one of my older brothers, Roland. He keep teasing me and I threw an apple at him. He ducked and the apple went through the window. I was scare that I would get in trouble with my Mom. She was in town grocery shopping. I hid behind the workshop all day untial she came home and my brothers found me.
4. I was 2 1/2- 3 my Mom had my younger brother Raymond. Being two I was a little jealous of my brother. In these days I only spoke French. I then told my Mom in French that if my brother could (ca ca) poop his pants then I could (ca ca) my pants too.
5. English is my second language. I only spoke French when I was little. I started learning English just before I went to kindergarten.
6. I use to be a tomboy. I loved climbing trees and playing outside in the woods. Once day I fell out of a tree onto a corrugated roof of our wood shed. I cut the back of my thigh. In those days you didn't go to the doctors or hospital unless it was an emergency. I have a large scar that should have had stitches.
7. I was very, very shy as a child, especially at school. The teachers would mispronouce my name and I would never correct them. My name is Joan but it is spell differently. So instead of calling me Joanne (Joan) they always called my (Joan) like Joan of Ark.
8. Carmen is my middle name. My Mom named me after my godmother, Aunt Carmen. She was a sweet little short french lady. My Mom would go into town on Saturdays with my Uncle Vital. My Mom would spend the day at my AUnt Carmen after she did her errands.

A Quiet Day with Ben
Joleene & Ben hung out with Auntie Sue & Grammy for the day. We went to a few yard sales but it was too hot and humid. We ended up going to his Grandma's to use their swimming pool. Ben hasn't been in the pool for a couple of months. He didn't mind getting his feet wet but he didn't want to lay down in his float. I guess the water was a little too cool for him.
We came back and hung out at my house. Auntie Sue got Ben a excersaucer from one of her friends at work. The girl needed a microwave one and we had one. She had a excersaucer that her baby outgrow so she traded and gave it to Sue. It's has little cars and people on it. I gave it a good cleaning and scrub the stickers off. It came out looking real nice. Best of all It didn't cost us anything and Ben loves it. I'm trying to find things for my house but not spend too much money for it. I love buying Ben things he needs but it senseless to but two of everything.
I feed Ben bananas. Here are a few pics of Ben making a mess. He grab the spoon from Grammy. He's just so cute. Every day I'm so thankful to have this precious little boy in our lives.

Monday with Ben
Joleene went back to work this morning and I spent the day with Ben. It was just Ben and myself. Ben is such a little character. He's growing up so fast and changing so much from the time he was a newborn. He's rolling over. It's amazing how much one little person can turn adults into softies. The other day Mommy, Auntie Sue and Grammy were sitting on the floor watching Ben roll over. We were clapping and telling him "what a good boy" for rolling over. I know, we have it bad. I never knew how much one little person could melt your heart. He's our little sunshine. He's always laughing and smiling. I love hearing his giggles. Here are a few pics the I took while babysitting Ben. It seems strange having Ben going to daycare. I've been with him and his Mom so much this summer. It's a good daycare and they are already falling in love with Ben. Joleene is adjusting but it is so difficult for her. She has been home with him since April. He's at an age where he's doing and changing so much. The daycare keeps a log and writes about Ben's day which helps his Mommy to know what's happening during the day. I love my Mondays with Ben!

Feeling Better
Ben is doing so much better. The medicine for his eyes cleared up his pink eye and the antibiotics is clearing up his ear infection. He looks like almost back to normal but boy does he hate that eye medicine. Joleene has to try to give it to him when he's sleeping.

Visit with Uncle Chris
Even though Ben is still sick he laughs and smiles a lot. He's such a good natured baby. I went over after work and Ben slept on Grammy for a couple of hours. Grammy gave Joleene a rest since she is sick. She hasn't been getting much sleep lately. Grammy, Daddy and Mommy all got sick after him. Joleene had to take Ben to the doctors this morning. He has conjunctivitis and the start of an ear infection. We bought him a humidifier to help him sleep better at night. He is getting better. The medicine should help him get better sooner.

Ben 18 weeks
Ben came down with a cold a couple of days ago. I've been hanging out with Mom trying to give her some rest as all Ben wants to do is be held. It's so hard to watch them when they are sick. He's has a runny nose, runny eyes plus coughing. Joleene and I just ran the shower in the bathroom as hot as could be to try to clear him up. I'll be so glad when he feels better. Mom & Daddy aren't getting much sleep right now. I don't like see Grammy's little man so sick. I was suppose to go to the balloon festival with Stacy and her kids but I ended up at Jo's to give her a helping hand with Ben. I sure the kids are having fun with Mom and Sue. Here's a couple of pics of Ben at 18 weeks.

Popham Beach
Joleene, Ben, Auntie Sue & Grammy went to Popham Beach. I have been wanting to take Ben to the ocean so we took a drive and ended up at Popham Beach. We stayed for a few hours as we didn't want to keep Ben out in the sun too long. He is such a water baby. He loves the water. Mommy is going to have him take swimming lessons when he is a little older. The YMCA gives lessons for babies so she wants to introduce him to it. Today was a beautiful day..Not too hot, just right..Here are a few pics that Grammy and Auntie Sue took.
