Monday with Ben

Joleene went back to work this morning and I spent the day with Ben. It was just Ben and myself. Ben is such a little character. He's growing up so fast and changing so much from the time he was a newborn. He's rolling over. It's amazing how much one little person can turn adults into softies. The other day Mommy, Auntie Sue and Grammy were sitting on the floor watching Ben roll over. We were clapping and telling him "what a good boy" for rolling over. I know, we have it bad. I never knew how much one little person could melt your heart. He's our little sunshine. He's always laughing and smiling. I love hearing his giggles. Here are a few pics the I took while babysitting Ben. It seems strange having Ben going to daycare. I've been with him and his Mom so much this summer. It's a good daycare and they are already falling in love with Ben. Joleene is adjusting but it is so difficult for her. She has been home with him since April. He's at an age where he's doing and changing so much. The daycare keeps a log and writes about Ben's day which helps his Mommy to know what's happening during the day. I love my Mondays with Ben!

Feeling Better

Ben is doing so much better. The medicine for his eyes cleared up his pink eye and the antibiotics is clearing up his ear infection. He looks like almost back to normal but boy does he hate that eye medicine. Joleene has to try to give it to him when he's sleeping.

Joleene is getting ready to go back to school. She is having a little hard time with that. Ben will be with me on Monday. It's hard leaving him as she has been with him since April. On the good side she has had almost 5 months which is she is thankful for..Jo's computer is still down. The school hasn't fixed it so she hasn't been able to update her blog. Here's a pic that Jo took of Ben. Even though he's sick he still has a smile.

Visit with Uncle Chris

Chris has been living in Florida for about 4 months. He left when Ben was two weeks old. Ben has grown a lot since then. Ben smiled and laughed at his Uncle Chris. Chris only came up for a few days. He wanted to put his motorcycle back together. He was going to try to drive it back to Florida but thankfully his friends talked him out of it. He will have it shipped down to him later. He seems to like it down there. He's managing a fast food restaurant and tutoring a couple of kids in Math. Here's a pic of Ben with Uncle Chris.

Even though Ben is still sick he laughs and smiles a lot. He's such a good natured baby. I went over after work and Ben slept on Grammy for a couple of hours. Grammy gave Joleene a rest since she is sick. She hasn't been getting much sleep lately. Grammy, Daddy and Mommy all got sick after him. Joleene had to take Ben to the doctors this morning. He has conjunctivitis and the start of an ear infection. We bought him a humidifier to help him sleep better at night. He is getting better. The medicine should help him get better sooner.

Ben 18 weeks

It hard to believe that Ben is 18 weeks old already. Time goes by way too fast. Hard to believe that he is the same little baby that Joleene & Jason brought home from the hospital.
Ben came down with a cold a couple of days ago. I've been hanging out with Mom trying to give her some rest as all Ben wants to do is be held. It's so hard to watch them when they are sick. He's has a runny nose, runny eyes plus coughing. Joleene and I just ran the shower in the bathroom as hot as could be to try to clear him up. I'll be so glad when he feels better. Mom & Daddy aren't getting much sleep right now. I don't like see Grammy's little man so sick. I was suppose to go to the balloon festival with Stacy and her kids but I ended up at Jo's to give her a helping hand with Ben. I sure the kids are having fun with Mom and Sue. Here's a couple of pics of Ben at 18 weeks.

1st Time Eating cereal

Well, Ben's doctor told Joleene to start feeding him rice cereal. Then gradually start with vegatables and then fruits. Joleene's computer crash...so she waiting on the school to fix it her. Hopefully it won't take too long for her to get it fix. I thought I would share some pics of Ben eating his cereal for the 1st time. He made quite a little mess..but he was a cute little mess.

Popham Beach

Joleene, Ben, Auntie Sue & Grammy went to Popham Beach. I have been wanting to take Ben to the ocean so we took a drive and ended up at Popham Beach. We stayed for a few hours as we didn't want to keep Ben out in the sun too long. He is such a water baby. He loves the water. Mommy is going to have him take swimming lessons when he is a little older. The YMCA gives lessons for babies so she wants to introduce him to it. Today was a beautiful day..Not too hot, just right..Here are a few pics that Grammy and Auntie Sue took.

Our Little Man

I spent the day yesterday babysitting Ben. Joleene had a workshop day so Ben hung out with Grammy at his house. He is such a good baby. Of course Grammy always have to take pictures of our little man. Here's a slide show of some pics that I took. After Joleene's workshop we went to Augusta to pick up Ben 3 months pictures. Someone told us that the Wal-mart in Augusta took good portriats. They were wrong. We were not impressed. It was a waste of money. Joleene and I was so disappointed. There's a couple of extra prints that came out okay...what a big difference between Sears and Walmart. I will not do Wal-mart again. I'll would rather pay the extra and have them done right. We can go back and get our money back but then we can't go back too when Ben was 3 months and have them taken over again...I would not recomment Walmart at all. This is the only good shot we got..The others were off centered, cut off his feet, not looking at the camera, etc...

Uncle Chris with Ben

I thought I would put a pic of Ben & his Uncle Chris. We don't have any new photos of them as Chris move to Florida a few months ago. Ben is only one day old in this pic with his Uncle Chris. We'll have to take some pics when Uncle Chris comes back to Maine to visit. He's missing a lot. Ben is growing up so fast.

Here's a pic of Ben from yesterday. He laying on Grammy's (Meme's blanket that she made for one of her other great grand kids.) Therese gave us one which we are so thankful for. It's nice that Ben has a blanket that my Mom made.

Ben Laughing

These are two of my favorite photos from yesterday. Ben is laughing and playing with his Auntie Sue. These pictures show his beautiful blue eyes. I have been truly bless that I have been able to spent a lot of time with Ben this summer. He's the reason that I gave up my other job. I wanted to be able to spend time with my grand kids when I had them and we have Ben. He is just the sweetest little boy. I have always enjoy working and playing with kids. Now I can spend that time with my grand baby and nieces and nephews. I do love my niece's kids. She has the most adorable little twin girls (Kelsey & Kaylee) who are 2: Toya who is 8 (growing up so fast) and of course Jordan who is 5. Time goes by so fast. The kids are growing up.

Special Day with Ben

Today Auntie Sue and Grammy babysat Ben while his Mommy and Daddy went to a concert. I think it was very hard on Mommy as this was the longest time she left Ben. Ben spent the day with us playing with his toys and cuddling with Auntie Sue and Grammy. We took a short walk before it got too hot. Ben was awesome. He is such a good baby. Of course we are bias but it can't be help. He is my first grandchild and Auntie Sue first nephew. We took a few photos of our little guy.
